If you’ve got the time and the inclination to pluck feathers by hand, then lucky you, and you might want to look at getting a different hobby. But for those of us who’d rather leave the job to a speedy and efficient bit of equipment instead, here’s the KuKoo 60cm chicken plucker machine.

It’s an easy to use de-feathering machine suitable for use with birds like chicken, duck, goose or turkey.

The chicken plucker machine is made from stainless steel and has a main plucking barrel lined with rubber fingers that are so much better at plucking than real fingers. As the base of the barrel rotates these fingers rub against the poultry to remove the feathers quickly and efficiently.

The only control you need to think about is the easy to use on/off switch – turning it on means this chicken plucker can remove the feathers of seven to eight birds in a matter of minutes.

The chicken plucker has a water pipe included, which attaches to your hose pipe and rinses the inside of the barrel to drain away the loose feathers afterwards, which ensures the machine continues to pluck the best it possibly can.

For the farming industry or abattoirs this is an essential time-saving bit of kit, which means you no longer have to waste time plucking feathers by hand and can get on with those other vital tasks that we haven’t got a machine for (yet).

The built in water pipe connects to a hose (not included) which provides a water supply to drain away plucked feathers from the barrel and birds when the plucking is done. Using water with electrical appliances can be dangerous so we advise the use of an RCD adaptor with this machine (not included), this will instantly cut off the electricity supply to the chicken plucking machine should there be a broken wire and can prevent short circuits and shocks. This poultry plucker can hold up to 8 birds; including chicken, goose, turkey and duck. However, this capacity totally depends on the size of the poultry, because different breeds of bird may be smaller or larger than average. This plucker cannot be used with pheasants.
